Donation to the LNWR Society

We need funds to secure the future of the L&NWR Society’s Archive. Such funds help to maintain the Society’s equipment and premises as well helping to purchase important and rare documentation, plans and drawings.

As a registered charity we can claim Gift Aid on donations from UK tax payers and thereby increase the value of your kind contribution. Therefore if you pay UK income tax or capital gains tax that is at least equal to the amount you are donating in any one tax year, the Society can reclaim tax on the donation.

You can make a donation towards the Society by one of three methods:

  1. a cheque to the Treasurer whose address is 16 Lockhart Close, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 1RB
  2. via a BACS to the Society’s account: Sort Code 20-57-40, Account No 90162272, Account name LONDON & NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY SOCIETY
  3. by completing the following boxes, and if applicable, the Gift Aid declaration:

Full Name
Date
Email Address
Telephone Number
Address (including postcode)
Country (if outside the UK)

Gift Aid Declaration (optional)

If you are a UK taxpayer, then at no cost to yourself you can considerably increase the value of your subscription to the Society. Do please help in this way if you can, but before signing, please read the notes below to be sure you are eligible.

I wish the London & North Western Railway Society to treat all donations/membership subscriptions I make from the date of this declaration until I notify you otherwise as Gift Aid Donations.

Name

By pressing the submit button below, you are confirming your acceptance, if relevant, to treat your donation as Gift Aid a donation.

After pressing the submitting the submit button you will be taken to PayPal. Please note that the PayPal screens will refer to a ‘donation’. This is the simplest way in PayPal to accept a variable amount - your payment will be correctly allocated across membership and any donation in our records.

Gift Aid Declaration Notes

  1. You must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax reclaimed on all your Gift-Aided donations in the tax year. (Currently 25p for each £1 on which Gift Aid is claimed).
  2. If you pay income and / or capital gains tax at the higher rate you may be able to claim marginal tax relief.
  3. If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax reclaimed as Gift Aid, you may need to cancel your Gift Aid Declaration to the London & North Western Railway Society. (See Note 2 above).
  4. You can cancel this declaration at any time by advising the London & North Western Railway Society in writing; it will then not apply to donations / membership subscriptions you make on or after the date of cancellation or such later date as you specify.
