Q

Quadruple Track
A railway route in which two sets of tracks are provided for each direction of travel. The two sets of lines could be paired by direction (usually Up Slow, Up Fast, Down Fast, Down Slow), or by use (Up Slow, Down Slow, Up Fast, Down Fast). Both arrangements were to be found on the LNWR at different locations.
